Ideas To Live By . . . .
- Sometimes it is important to reflect on where we have been, where we are, and what might be coming in our lives. In this time of measured quarantine, we find ourselves wondering about many things. Maxine Gram received a piece of prose from her daughter that I want to pass on to all that read this newsletter. Allow it to seep into your soul.
And the people stayed home.
And read books, and listened, and rested,
and played games, and learned new ways of being,
and were still.
And listened more deeply.
Some mediated, some prayed, some danced.
Some met their shadows.
And the people began to think differently.
And the people healed,
And, in the absence of people living in
ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways,
the earth began to heal.
And when the danger passed,
and the people joined together again,
they grieved their losses, and made new choices,
and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live
and heal the earth fully, as they healed.
I would add to this wonderful piece of prose that the Lord God has given us the kingdom and has made it our job to care for all of it. In my announcements this past Sunday I asked that we as a congregation be sure that we do what we can to care one for the other by participating in the Five Friends program.
